Entelekia
A gravitational system that cannot render its own cause. 128 pixel cosmologies, each one complete from a single hash — and in every one of them, the centre is never drawn.

In Metaphysics Δ.13 Aristotle splits quantity in two. Plēthos — the discrete, what you count. Megethos — the continuous, what you measure. Every display ever built is the first impersonating the second: a countable grid pretending to be a continuous world.
Higher resolution is not a fix. It is a better costume. Pixel art is the only form that declines the disguise — so nothing in this catalogue is antialiased.
Spec BEX1PX · Edge-on
The attractor that generates every orbit in the piece is not rendered. There is a void where matter is consumed, and one pixel that never changes across the entire run. It causes without being caused.
“It moves as the beloved moves the lover — by being desired, not by acting.”
Metaphysics Λ.7 · 1072b3This is the mint engine itself, not a recording — the image is being computed from that hash right now, and nothing about it is stored. Drag the canvas to become a moved mover.
Two bodies of equal weight orbiting a barycentre that is itself empty. Neither is the centre. The centre is the thing they are both falling around, and neither one is.
6F112SThe physics is a perfect circle. The view is not. Tilt the orbital plane to fourteen percent and the disc collapses to an edge. Same forces as every other piece — you are simply standing in the wrong place.
BEX1PXThe accumulation buffer decays at 0.9955 per frame, which is to say it very nearly doesn't. Everything that has ever happened in this system is still on the canvas. It is not a picture of a cosmos — it is the cosmos's record of itself.
ASZC6CIdentical physics, inverted at the last stage before quantisation. Light accumulating becomes ink absorbing — and the void, dark everywhere else in the catalogue, arrives here as the brightest thing in the frame. Roughly one edition in six.
R140SPIn every other edition the sacred geometry is a cause you cannot see — its vertices are the emission points matter is born from. In a rare few it is drawn in full. The rings are not laid over the image. They are the thing the image came out of.
5JEKRPEntelecheia is a word Aristotle invented and never defined — a thing holding its own completion inside itself. Each hash is a potential; the canvas running in your browser is that potential at work. Nothing is stored. The image you are looking at has never existed before and is being completed as you watch.
Around the centre orbit up to twelve moved movers, each pulling matter into its own wake — or, in the rare Monad, none at all, and the centre turns the whole system alone. Aristotle needed forty-seven of them, or fifty-five, depending on the calculation. Λ.8 · 1073b1
One edition, actualized once, in your browser, from nothing but a hash.
